"Sapiosexual" is a word that people use when they want to explain something they can feel but cannot name correctly.

I understand the impulse. The attraction is clearly connected to intelligence. The field activates around certain minds. Something turns on when the thought moves right.

But sapiosexual is the wrong container.

It names a preference — as if intelligence is a trait on a checklist, like height or eye color. As if the person walks in, demonstrates intelligence, and the attraction is activated like a response.
