PRAS TOOK A BEE GEES SAMPLE AND CALLED ODB. THAT'S THE WHOLE STORY AND ALSO NONE OF IT.

In 1983, the Bee Gees wrote "Islands in the Stream" for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
Country. Pop. Massive. #1 for two weeks.
"Islands in the stream — that is what we are."

In 1998, Pras Michel of the Fugees took that melody,
built a hip hop record over it,
and called Ol' Dirty Bastard to rap a verse.
Barry Gibb wrote the hook. ODB destroyed it. Both are correct.

The track was written for Warren Beatty's political satire Bulworth —
a film about a senator who has a breakdown and starts telling the truth.
Ghetto Supastar is the soundtrack to telling the truth after a breakdown.
That is the exact frequency ODB operates at permanently.
